January Obsessions...

So it's been awhile since I posted anything, don't judge me. With it being the end of January and all, I figured I would mention some of my favorite things from this past month. Enjoy!!

Ugly Betty! Ugly Betty! Ugly Betty! I never really watched the show too much before, but this month I really got into the show. It saddens me to know that this is their final season (show canceled. boo hiss!) because it's actually quite funny. If you follow the show at all, you know that Amanda (Becki Newton) is the reason we really tun in to watch. I've decided that I will be getting (asking everyone to get them for me) the DVD's of this great show. And if anything else, I guess I can just go on www.hulu.com to watch.

Music.... Here's a quick top ten of what I listened to all month

1. Toro Y Moi "Blessa"

Check out his music. It's all great, but I've been obsessing over this song all month. Definitely a feel good song.

2. Leighton Meester "Your Love's A Drug" It's a cute song. I'm hoping she puts out her CD already. If you haven't her song with Robin Thicke, you should probably check that out as well. While I wait on the new CD, I'll settle for watching her on Gossip Girl.

3. Madonna featuring Justin Timberlake "Across the Sky" Of course anything Madonna puts out is good. The song was released sometime this month.

4. Caro Emerald "A Night Like This" You have to check out the video for this song. It makes me want to jet set to Italy with my friends, hit up a swanky party and have a great night.

5. The Strokes "You Only Live Once" Great band. Great song. I would love to see this band perform. I'll add it to my bucket list.

6. Julian Casablancas "11th Dimension" Julian is the lead singer of The Strokes and I believe this is the first single off of his solo album "Phrazes For The Young". I like it because it's a little bit different that what he does with his band. It's a good upbeat song.

7. Edith Piaf "La Foule" She truely was great in her time and thankfully her music lives on. I have no idea what she's saying, which is sad because I took two years of French, but I adore the song.

8. The Cataracs "Club Love" Great song to fist pump to... I mean, if you're into that kind of thing. If I remember correctly, my friend E almost wrecked her car fist pumping away to this song. I'm also obsessed with this video because the two guys in the video are quite handsome. You've got to love something visually pleasing.

9. Private "My Secret Lover" It sounds so 80's, how can one resist?

10.
Mousse T. featuring Suzie "All Night Long (D.I.S.C.O.)" Music & fashion meet in this video. Another great song to shake your bon bon to.

Top 3 movies that I was ga ga over this month were 1) Suddenly Seeking Susan - I'm a Madonna fanatic and it's one of the only movies she's in that I hadn't seen. I'm glad I did. 2) La Vie En Rose - This movie was great and I agree with the Academy for giving Marion Cotillard an Oscar for her performance. If you haven't seen the movie, I suggest you do. It's based on the life of troubled singer Edith Piaf. 3) The September Issue - A movie about Vogue's Anna Wintour... Meow.

I wish I could say that I'm obsessing over new clothes, but I didn't really shop this month. Sad, I know. Although there is a new black leather biker jacket that I would like to get from www.topman.com They're stuff is great!

As for books this month, I'm really bad and I didn't read anything. Why? Because I was watching Ugly Betty and Brothers & Sisters. Again, don't judge me. However, there is a book on my desk now called "Boys Like Us: Gay Writers Tell Their Coming Out Stories" edited by Patrick Merla. I imagine I will be starting the book sometime this week. We'll see. I'll let you know how that goes.

A few more obsessions this month: my homemade potato soup that I've perfected, jack & cokes, red slushies, wandering around Target, sexting, my bed and lots and lots of sleep.
