Top 10 Things That I Don't Give A F*ck About...

1) The Winter Olympics: Does this make me Un-American? I don't know and I don't care. Everyone knows that you only watch the summer Olympics. And if you do watch the winter Olympics, it's for the skating. Eh! Maybe that's just me... and you know, the whole gay thing.

2) Valentine's Day Date: I have the shittiest Valentine's Days since I was 19. I expect this year to be the same. With that being said, I will most likely lock myself up at home, watch "Brothers & Sisters" and have several bottles of wine. F*ck you, Cupid!

3) Your Baby Pictures: I'm sure this seems a little insensitive, but I don't care to see pictures of your "cutesy" baby. It seems everywhere I go, someone is popping out another kid. This stresses me out because of all the crying and the cuteness. Ugh. Babies are so needy too, "I'm hungry! Change my diaper! Waaaaah!!" If I ever have a kid, I promise never to be one of those "do you wanna see my baby's pictures" kinda guys.

4) We Are The World 25 Year Anniversary: They totally remade the song using music's most annoying voices: Justin Bieber, Pink, Akon, Fergie, Jamie Foxx, Barbara Streisand, Wycleaf Jean and many more... If you haven't seen the video for it, lucky you!

5) Avatar: I don't care about the movie at all, so please QUIT trying to make me see it. If I wanted to watch something animated and blue, I'd watch The Smurfs. Way more entertaining anyways.

6) Pink's performance At The Grammy's: a) I hate Pink and that annoying voice. b) Does she even wear pink anymore? I don't get it one bit. c) I understand that she did some Cirque de Soleil bull shit, but who really cares to see that performance AGAIN. I'm convinced she did that same routine at the MTV Music Awards.... and in her bedroom. *yawn*

7) Tiger Woods & His Cheating: So what! People cheat. Get over it. If he wants to go and blow his load with every which woman, then let him. How does his cheating concern you?

8) Avatar: Really. Quit trying to make me watch it. I refuse.

9) American Idol: I don't believe I've watched the show since Fantasia was on it. Nor do I care to. Ever since they started to put annoying people on the show for ratings (see: William Hung), people who know damn well they can't sing, but it's "funny" to watch.... Ugh, annoying! I'd rather not waste my time.

10) Adam Lambert: The hair. The makeup. That voice. You give gay men a bad name!

(This would be the most recent picture of me. Cute, huh? Me... in black. Weird!)

Anyways, a couple of things I am excited about: The movie "Chloe" starring Amanda Seyfried, The Oscars, Sade's new CD "Soldier of Love", the end of Valentine's Day, my trip back to North Dakota to see my family, spring!

And here's a song that I've been playing on repeat since December. I can't get enough of it. Enjoy!

January Obsessions...

So it's been awhile since I posted anything, don't judge me. With it being the end of January and all, I figured I would mention some of my favorite things from this past month. Enjoy!!

Ugly Betty! Ugly Betty! Ugly Betty! I never really watched the show too much before, but this month I really got into the show. It saddens me to know that this is their final season (show canceled. boo hiss!) because it's actually quite funny. If you follow the show at all, you know that Amanda (Becki Newton) is the reason we really tun in to watch. I've decided that I will be getting (asking everyone to get them for me) the DVD's of this great show. And if anything else, I guess I can just go on www.hulu.com to watch.

Music.... Here's a quick top ten of what I listened to all month

1. Toro Y Moi "Blessa"

Check out his music. It's all great, but I've been obsessing over this song all month. Definitely a feel good song.

2. Leighton Meester "Your Love's A Drug" It's a cute song. I'm hoping she puts out her CD already. If you haven't her song with Robin Thicke, you should probably check that out as well. While I wait on the new CD, I'll settle for watching her on Gossip Girl.

3. Madonna featuring Justin Timberlake "Across the Sky" Of course anything Madonna puts out is good. The song was released sometime this month.

4. Caro Emerald "A Night Like This" You have to check out the video for this song. It makes me want to jet set to Italy with my friends, hit up a swanky party and have a great night.

5. The Strokes "You Only Live Once" Great band. Great song. I would love to see this band perform. I'll add it to my bucket list.

6. Julian Casablancas "11th Dimension" Julian is the lead singer of The Strokes and I believe this is the first single off of his solo album "Phrazes For The Young". I like it because it's a little bit different that what he does with his band. It's a good upbeat song.

7. Edith Piaf "La Foule" She truely was great in her time and thankfully her music lives on. I have no idea what she's saying, which is sad because I took two years of French, but I adore the song.

8. The Cataracs "Club Love" Great song to fist pump to... I mean, if you're into that kind of thing. If I remember correctly, my friend E almost wrecked her car fist pumping away to this song. I'm also obsessed with this video because the two guys in the video are quite handsome. You've got to love something visually pleasing.

9. Private "My Secret Lover" It sounds so 80's, how can one resist?

10.
Mousse T. featuring Suzie "All Night Long (D.I.S.C.O.)" Music & fashion meet in this video. Another great song to shake your bon bon to.

Top 3 movies that I was ga ga over this month were 1) Suddenly Seeking Susan - I'm a Madonna fanatic and it's one of the only movies she's in that I hadn't seen. I'm glad I did. 2) La Vie En Rose - This movie was great and I agree with the Academy for giving Marion Cotillard an Oscar for her performance. If you haven't seen the movie, I suggest you do. It's based on the life of troubled singer Edith Piaf. 3) The September Issue - A movie about Vogue's Anna Wintour... Meow.

I wish I could say that I'm obsessing over new clothes, but I didn't really shop this month. Sad, I know. Although there is a new black leather biker jacket that I would like to get from www.topman.com They're stuff is great!

As for books this month, I'm really bad and I didn't read anything. Why? Because I was watching Ugly Betty and Brothers & Sisters. Again, don't judge me. However, there is a book on my desk now called "Boys Like Us: Gay Writers Tell Their Coming Out Stories" edited by Patrick Merla. I imagine I will be starting the book sometime this week. We'll see. I'll let you know how that goes.

A few more obsessions this month: my homemade potato soup that I've perfected, jack & cokes, red slushies, wandering around Target, sexting, my bed and lots and lots of sleep.

Ramble Ramble 3 a.m.

Let me start off by saying that me starting this blog is probably going to be the highlight of my week. Well, that and the fact that my cousin (who reminds me very much of myself) just texted me stating that he hooked up with one of my old acquaintances. That definitely put a smile on my face.

I'm in Iowa at the moment. The current weather is 23 degrees, which is actually quite warm for this time of year. Originally from the great state of North Dakota, I can appreciate this weather. It's a shame I haven't left the house in the past couple of days, except to go with The Peacock (my roommate) to a local convenience store to pick up a couple of bottles of cheap red wine and some smokes. Convenient indeed.

I've been seeing someone for about a month now. We'll call that person "T". All has gone well with the relationship up until recently. "T", although an extremely nice person, is a recovering alcoholic and has managed to slip up for the first time in almost a year. As a punishment, "T" has to remained locked up in a rehab/halfway house for up to 30 days. What a great way to start off this relationship. I'm already looking forward to that kiss.

My personal style hasn't changed much over the last couple of years. I'd like to think I'm a little bit preppy with a dash of rock and roll. I love black t-shirts and stuff along those lines and it has become part of my daily uniform, (or at least part of my uniform when going out out on the down). At the moment I'm a disheveled mess in a beat up vintage Hollister baseball tee and some gym shorts. My hair, which is slowly but surely get longer, keeps brushing against my eyes making it almost impossible for me not to be annoyed. Through all of this, I'd still like to think I'm good looking.

I recently just finished a movie called "A Perfect Getaway" starring Steve Zahn, Milla Jovovich and Timothy Olyphant. Now I apologize to anyone who simply adores the movie, but I thought it was complete crap. Married couples on a Hawaiian island with killers on the loose? Come on! If I'm going to watch a movie, I usually go for something that's going to get an emotional reaction out of me. Naturally, this was not my choice of movie to watch, (blame the roommate). The only good thing that came out of that bonding experience was him making Hamburger Helper and me rehydrating after a long weekend of drinking. Thank you, H2O!

I hate the fact that Valentine's is approaching mostly because I've never had a good Valentine's Day. They usually ended up with a drink being thrown, an act of cheating and tears being had. I'll have to fill you in some on some of those details. Just wait to V-day.

I'm excited for later today because my dear friend "S" (or The Walibi as I may refer to her as from time to time) is stopping over to visit for a bit. She's actually the last guest I had over. Since she's busy starting a new life for herself with a fiance and a son, I try to keep her around for good coffee(Dr. Pepper) talk. Plus it gives her some time to have to herself... And we all need a little self time.

I feel as though I am rambling. Ugh! I suppose that was the easiest way for me to get this blog started. I hope you follow me as I continue to blog, ramble, reflect on memories past.... you get the picture.
